The SCRAM Continuous Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM CAM) bracelet offers 24/7 transdermal alcohol testing for hardcore drunk drivers, high-risk alcohol, and domestic violence caseloads, similar to a breathalyzer for the ankle. The SCRAM CAM bracelet avoids testing gaps and promotes responsibility by automatically sampling the wearer’s perspiration every 30 minutes. In addition to promoting sobriety, SCRAM CAM also results in increased rates of court order compliance and improved public safety.

The bracelet tests a number of things simultaneously whenever it takes a reading to make sure there haven’t been any attempts to tamper with the bracelet, prevent testing, or take the bracelet off. You will also be required to sign a document at the time of installation that forbids you from putting anything alcoholic near or on the bracelet.

In your monitoring, the SCRAM CAM Wireless Base Station is key. All test results are saved in the bracelet until they are downloaded to your base station, where they are then automatically sent to your designated agent. You must be within 30 feet of the base station for the data transmission to occur at the predetermined times when downloads occur. Your base station can connect via a landline, cellphone, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet to your home internet.
